PACIFICA, CA — Today, Congressman Sam Liccardo (CA-16) held a press conference at the site of the Pacifica Pier disaster to call for immediate federal aid for Pacifica and support for the city’s call for a state of emergency. 

Liccardo was joined by Pacifica City Manager Sean Charpentier, Supervisor Ray Mueller, State Senator Josh Becker, Assemblymember Marc Berman, Pacifica Mayor Christine Boles, Chit Chat Cafe owner Ginger Davis, community members Lisa Hemstalk and Lilia Bae Cadotte, and members of the Pacifica City Council.

Washington, D.C. — In a vote of 215-208, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a measure forcing President Trump to withdraw U.S. forces from Iran or win Congressional approval to proceed with the war.
“Common sense prevailed today. Rising costs and mounting public outrage forced even members of Trump’s own party to reject his war. The Senate must vote on this War Powers Resolution with haste so we don’t lose this temporary episode of sanity,” said Rep. Liccardo.

The package includes Liccardo’s BUILD Housing Act, the Unlocking Housing Supply Through Streamlined and Modernized Reviews Act, the RESIDE Act, and the Property Improvement and Manufactured Housing Loan Modernization Act.
