On the Second Anniversary of the Mass Shooting in Half Moon Bay, Rep. Liccardo Calls for Action

January 23, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two years ago today, a gunman shot eight people in Half Moon Bay, killing seven and injuring one. Congressman Sam Liccardo – who represents Half Moon Bay – released the following statement:

“Two years ago, the devastating mass shooting in Half Moon Bay sent shockwaves through our community. Survivors, victims, and their families remain in my thoughts.

“Let’s recommit to supporting those families and the entire community to heal. We can do so by supporting housing for the farm workers who lived in such desperate, deplorable conditions, including the project currently under development on Kelley Avenue. We can also honor their loss with action to reduce gun violence. We can find common ground in common sense — to keep guns out of the wrong hands, to provide law enforcement with the tools they need, and to regulate ammunition sales.

“I hope my colleagues, on either side of the aisle, will dare to join me.”
